Best Practices for Collection

TE-5000

Your TE-5000 is designed to decrease your waste volume and in some cases, completely eliminate your need for medical waste storage entirely.

Here are some things team members can do to continue optimizing your medical waste workflow:

  • Keep your TE-5000 plugged in at all times. This allows for our servers to stay in contact with the machine and ensure it is up to date and running smoothly
  • Do not include excessive liquid in your containers, nothing over 4oz or about 118cc’s
Keep your TE-5000 in a biohazard room or closet, similar to where you are currently storing medical waste
  • Do not remove the lid following the sterilization process. Check to ensure the sticker on the container is blacked out and throw the entire container into the trash
  • Following the sterilization process, the container and its contents are no longer medical waste and are no longer required to be stored or hauled. Place the tin in your regular trash following it’s sterilization cycle
